The "JOHN LEWIS" logo appears over a close-up of a gift with a handwritten note.

The ad opens with a close-up of a gift wrapped in red paper with a note that says "DAD". The camera then pans to show different people, including a man looking thoughtful, a young man with headphones, and a man kneeling by a Christmas tree. The scene shifts to a record player, then to a man in a dimly lit room, followed by a crowded dance floor. The final scenes show a man and a younger man embracing, then smiling at each other. The ad ends with a shot of a living room decorated for Christmas.
