The ad opens with a shot of Earth from space, with a small spacecraft in the distance. The title card reads 'WAITROSE PRESENTS THE GASTRONAUT'. We then see an astronaut inside a spacecraft, floating and eating from a pouch. The scene transitions to a man on Earth, seemingly the same astronaut, at a barbecue with family and friends. He then walks into a Waitrose supermarket. The ad ends with the Waitrose logo and tagline.
