The man's intense stare and the close-up shot.

The ad opens with a close-up of a man with a mustache, wearing a black shirt with the Stanley Steemer logo. He is in a bathroom, near a shower head, and looks directly at the camera with a serious expression. The scene then cuts to a wider shot of a yellow Stanley Steemer van parked on a residential street. The van has the company name and phone number on its side. The text "THE STEEMER CLEANS GROUT" appears below the van.
